Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the plumbing trade.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.
  • Preferred: Construction experience; OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of commercial plumbing systems under supervision.
  • Transport, organize, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipe.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Position Title: Apprentice Plumber
Department: Field Operations
Reports To: Journeyman Plumber, Foreman, or Superintendent
Employment Status: Full-Time
Position Summary:

The Apprentice Plumber assists licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial plumbing systems. This position is responsible for supporting daily jobsite activities, handling tools and materials, maintaining a safe work environment, and participating in apprenticeship training while gaining practical field experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation of commercial plumbing systems, including water, waste, vent, storm, gas, and specialty piping systems.
  • Transport, organize, and stage materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipe under supervision.
  • Assist with pipe layout, rough-in work, fixture installation, and system testing.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and specifications as training progresses.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and jobsite equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements.
  • Attend apprenticeship classes and complete required training coursework.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and company training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, supervisors, and other trades.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required: High school diploma or GED preferred. Enrollment in or willingness to enroll in a state-approved plumbing apprenticeship program. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements. Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn the plumbing trade. Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude. Preferred: Previous construction experience. Experience using hand and power tools. OSHA 10 certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn plumbing installation methods and construction practices.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
  • Work on ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and elevated work areas.
  • Perform work in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
Work Environment:

Commercial construction job sites. Exposure to noise, dust, changing temperatures, and typical construction site conditions. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
