Job summary

Xcel Energy invites applicants for an Apprentice Plant Attendant at the Red Wing Generating Plant, RDF facility in Red Wing, MN. The role supports operation and routine maintenance of boilers and related equipment, with base pay of $30.39 per hour as listed in Exhibit A Wage Schedule.

Candidates must obtain Minnesota boiler licenses within set timeframes and be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Benefits are provided as part of the bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Must pass POSS/MASS EEI Test.
• Must obtain Minnesota Engineer Special Boiler license within 30 days of assignment.
• Must obtain Minnesota Engineer 2nd Class Boiler License; within 1 year of experience but before apprenticeship completion.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the operation, maintenance and inspection of boilers, turbine generators and auxiliary equipment.
