Job Summary

The Apprentice Mould Maker (Tool & Die Maker) will be responsible for repairing equipment related to container forming, such as molds. This role involves working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machine tools like lathes and mills. The work requires specialized skills, experience, and training in trades related to mold and tool repair.

Main Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Weld, grind, file, machine, and polish mold equipment to meet specifications.
• Perform lathe work and grinding as required.
• Operate surface grinders for reducing mold equipment.
• Use manual lathes and milling machines for repairs.
• Maintain safety and proper functioning of welding torches and gauges.
• Verify dimensions using gauges like calipers and micrometers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Inspect mold equipment and report irregularities to supervisors.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment.
• Technical school degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Experience with CNC programming and operations is a plus.
• Welding and blueprint reading skills are preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and manage multiple tasks.
