Job summary

Old Dominion Insulation (ODI) is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as a Mechanical Insulator Helper. You will support experienced crews with insulation installation, removal, and repair on ductwork, plumbing, and HVAC piping.

Training is provided for those new to the trade, with a pathway to a long-term career in insulation. Because many projects are government sites, candidates must pass a background check for access.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required for government site access.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (drug/alcohol, background).
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in insulation installation, removal, or repair on Mechanical/Plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut, and prepare insulation materials and jacketing.
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to designated areas.
• Spot for lifts and moving equipment to ensure job site safety.
• Clean and prepare work areas, including debris removal.
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
• Support crew members to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Follow OSHA safety practices and wear PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support insulation and construction team.
