Job summary

Ryerson in the United States is seeking candidates to join our apprenticeship program in a materials and warehouse role. You will select materials, unload and receive shipments, and help maintain safety, quality, and productivity on the floor.

Ideal applicants have metals or warehouse experience, be comfortable with measuring tools, and be a team player. On-site training will be provided as part of an onboarding pathway.

Qualifications

• Skills-based assessment required evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
• Experience in metals or warehouse setting is preferred.
• Forklift experience and basic computer skills are a plus.
• Ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, caliper) required.

Responsibilities

• Select material from heats or as per order specifications.
• Unload and receive material; weigh, count, and check sizes.
• Identify by color, heat, and test numbers; organize stock.
• Record information on tickets/Documents; maintain safety and quality standards.
• Fill in for absent positions as needed; other duties may change.
