The City of Green Cove Springs is seeking an entry-level worker for the Electric Utility distribution system. The role includes operating trucks, installing transformers, reading meters, and performing streetlighting maintenance under supervision.
Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Florida CDL A with air brake endorsement is preferred. The position requires safety compliance and may involve standby hours and on-call duties as part of the team.
Under supervision this position performs entry level skilled work in construction, operation, and maintenance of the City's Electric Utility distribution system.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The work is heavy and requires exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force to move objects. Also requires the following physical abilities: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions, with heights, and close to high voltage electric lines.
