Job summary

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, seeks a dedicated Apprentice Lineman in Geismar, LA. You will assist in installing and maintaining high voltage lines under Journeyman supervision, climb poles, operate bucket trucks, and support storm restoration efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment or willingness to enter a certified Lineman Apprenticeship Program.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Finish with up to 75 lbs lift; valid CDL Class A or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Willingness to travel for projects and storm restoration work.
• Pass drug test, background check and fit-for-duty exam.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and maintenance of high voltage lines.
• Climb poles and operate bucket trucks under supervision.
• String wire, install transformers, cross arms, insulators and switches.
• Load, unload and organize materials and tools on site.
• Perform groundman duties including setting poles and rigging.
• Participate in tailboard safety meetings and follow procedures.
• Learn to read line maps, blueprints and work orders.
• Support storm restoration and emergency outage response as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Saber Power Services are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Apprentice Lineman to assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in the utility and high voltage industry. Under the supervision of Journeyman Linemen and Foremen, the Apprentice Lineman will receive on-the-job training while contributing to active power line projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation and maintenance of high voltage overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Climb poles and operate bucket trucks and other equipment under supervision.
• String wire, install transformers, cross arms, insulators, switches, and other T&D equipment.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and tools on the job site.
• Perform groundman duties including setting poles, pulling wire, and rigging.
• Participate in tailboard safety meetings and follow all safety procedures.
• Learn to read line maps, blueprints, and work orders.
• Support storm restoration and emergency outage response as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in or willing to enter a certified Lineman Apprenticeship Program.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong physical condition; ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Valid CDL Class A or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Willingness to travel for projects and storm restoration work.
• Ability to pass drug test, background check, and fit-for-duty exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Previous experience on a line crew, utility contractor, or relevant trade school training.
