Job description

Primary Purpose: The Apprentice/Laborer (Seasonal) plays a vital role in our company by assisting licensed electricians and plumbers in performing electrical and plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance. This position is seasonal as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Daily attendance, dependability, and punctuality.
  • Honesty and integrity.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Physical fitness and dexterity to perform electrical and plumbing tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and safety practices.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred).

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Aid licensed electricians and plumbers in performing electrical and plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
  2. Follow instructions and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  3. Learn and implement proper electrical procedures and techniques.
  4. Work to full potential, maintaining high productivity, quality, and consistency of work performed.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Equipment Used: Handheld power tools, ladders, and other equipment as necessary.

Working Conditions:

Mental, physical, and environmental factors include continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting, and carrying. Work may be performed in tiring and uncomfortable positions both outside and inside, with exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent districtwide travel and occasional prolonged and irregular hours are required.
