As an Apprentice in HVAC Construction, you will perform all aspects of duct installation and assist with Mechanical equipment installation.

Job Functions and Duties (other duties may be assigned):

1. Apprentice I:
2. Entry level duct installation
3. Duct elevation math
4. Set Finish
5. Entry level plan reading

1. Apprentice II:
2. Help install Mechanical equipment
3. General duct fabrication (transitions & offsets)
4. Operate forklift and lifts (certifications required)
5. Train lower levels

Must Show Competency In:

• Ability to read plans and perform take-offs
• Familiarity with scope of work and contracts
• Identify when a change order or RFI is needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May act as a coach and mentor for laborers.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• HVAC installation experience in new construction and retrofit projects

Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and correspondence
• Effective presentation skills
• Mathematical skills including basic operations, rates, ratios, and interpreting graphs
• Reasoning ability to follow instructions and solve problems

Certificates, Licenses, and Physical Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Physical ability to stand, climb, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and more

Work Environment:

Outdoor work, mechanical rooms, extreme weather, exposure to moving parts, chemicals, and loud noise.

Work Availability:

Flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed.
