Job summary

Qualis Property Solutions is offering an Apprentice Gardener role on council land, with a structured learning path across general grounds maintenance. You will work 38 hours a week, attend Capel Manor College one day per week, and earn £15,808 in the first year of the apprenticeship.

You will gain hands-on skills in mowing, hedge work, pruning, beds, weeding and safety practices, supported by experienced colleagues and a national qualification pathway.

Responsibilities

• You will be placed alongside experienced gardeners to enhance the grounds maintenance service and ensure that the work carried out is high quality and achieves contractual objectives
• You will learn and carry out general ground’s maintenance and horticultural duties including grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, flower bed maintenance, weeding, chemical application and over-marking of sports areas. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to use the ride on mowers/ tractors subject to a full driving licence
• You will be taught relevant health and safety guidelines and safe working practices and ensure that they are always observed including the wearing of appropriate PPE.
