Job summary

Foodland Super Market, Ltd is hiring for a Fish Cutter on Hawaii Island. This part-time (24+ hours) role pays from $18.37 plus a $2.00 premium, totaling $20.37 per hour. On-island candidates only; relocation not provided.

Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred. The company emphasizes exceptional service and quality in a locally owned Hawai‘i market. The role involves stocking and merchandising seafood, assisting customers, and contributing to department efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver and/carry up to 75 pounds.
• Must successfully pass apprentice/training program (applies to apprentice only).
• Must have TB Clearance.
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure seafood cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality seafood products for customers.
• Receive, stock, cut, prepare, wrap, weigh, price, and merchandise seafood products.
• Maintain proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
• Attend the service case.
• Assist customers with special requests and answer questions about seafood products.
• Promote sales by offering samples and recommending additional items.

Fish Cutters are responsible but are not limited to the below:

• ensuring the seafood cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality seafood products for our customers
• receive, stock, cut, prepare, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise seafood department products
• proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste
• attend the service case
• assist customers with special requests, and answer questions about our seafood products
• help increase sales by offering product samples and by recommending additional items.
• Fish cutters work with equipment like wrapping machines and knives.
