Delaware Elevator, headquartered in Salisbury, MD, offers a Federally Approved Apprenticeship Program to train and develop the next generation of skilled Elevator Mechanics and Service Technicians.

Apprentices work alongside mentor mechanics and service technicians across Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida—gaining hands‑on training and real‑world knowledge from professionals who practice the trade every day.

Qualifications

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Mechanically inclined, with experience using basic and power tools.
  • Physical Requirements: Fit-for-duty, comfortable with heights, and able to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Travel: Ability to travel out of town as needed, with some overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Must successfully passdrug screenings, background checks, and skill assessments. Security clearance for certain jobsites may also be required.

  • Adhere to allsafety guidelines, policies, and proceduresas directed by your supervisor and Delaware Elevator professionals.

About the Program

Our program combines a curriculum of hands‑on, on‑the‑job training with a web‑based Learning Management System (LMS), and study materials to provide a comprehensive pathway to success. You'll work one on one with licensed elevator mechanics and technicians, gaining the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to become a certified professional in the field.

Essential Functions

As an Elevator Apprentice, you will:
