Job summary

IES is seeking an Electrical Helper in Houston to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on site. The role collaborates with field teams, vendors, and customers to ensure safety and code compliance while helping drive project progress.

Entry-level candidates with basic electrical knowledge and strong communication skills are encouraged to apply. The role requires lifting, travel to sites, and a commitment to safety and quality on demanding job sites.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, equipment and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and electrical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and operational awareness.
• Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Proficiency in using electrical tools, testing equipment and related systems.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and electrical codes.
• Ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues under pressure.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (background, MVR).
• English speaking, reading and writing preferred where necessary.
• Maintain professionalism with customers, coworkers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Review project plans, specifications, and work orders to support execution.
• Support diagnosing electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.
• Coordinate with teams, vendors, and departments on project activities.
• Maintain records and documentation related to electrical work.
• Support project timelines and field operations as needed.
• Monitor equipment and job site conditions for safety.
• Assist senior technicians and field operations as needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers and teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
