Qualifications

Job description

D&H United Fueling Solutions, Inc., a fast-growing leader in the petroleum services industry, is looking for experienced, energetic, hardworking Apprentice Electrician in the San Antonio area. The primary duties of the Apprentice Electrician are to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic equipment and fixtures used in the petroleum industry following accepted Best Practices while maintaining excellent safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Trouble-shoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems or components using the appropriate testing equipment to find and correct the failure.
  • Install conduits, pull wire and make final connections to circuit breakers, petroleum pumps, dispensers, Point of Sale consoles, tank monitors and petroleum lighting.
  • Inspect electrical system and components to verify compliance with safety requirements, codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
  • Verify proper operation of the electrical system.
  • Advise management, customers, and fellow workmen when hazards are present and when electrical systems are safe to operate.
  • Work with project estimator on material take-off, material cost, and labor allowances.
  • Must be able to use ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers to find problems and ensure components are working properly.
  • Ability to use commonly used hand and power tools including screwdrivers, wire strippers, drills, saws, and conduit benders to run and protect wiring.
  • Must be willing to travel and work out of town.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
  • At least 2 years of Apprentice Electrician experience (required).
  • Oklahoma State Apprentice Card.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code.
  • Strong communication skills and customer relations skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Knowledge of Class 1, Division 1 wiring a plus.
  • Strong industrial background is a plus.

Ability to:

  • Frequently lift and/or move 75 - 100 pounds.
  • Work flexible hours and outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors).
  • Pass security background check and drug screen.
