A leading company is offering a Modern Apprentice position aimed at reducing youth unemployment. This full-time role involves working under a tradesperson while completing college studies and developing essential skills for the chosen trade. Job Description
Based at Fairmuir House, 365 Clepington Road, you will work full time, 37 hours per week, on a fixed-term basis for 4 years. The Modern Apprentice Scheme aims to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care-experienced applicants under the age of 29. Requirements
You will need to have 3 5s, including English, Maths or Application of Maths, and one other relevant subject (e.g., Physics). Certification must be presented at interview.
You are required to pass the SECTT online test; proof of passing must be presented at interview.
Responsibilities
You will work under the direct instruction of a tradesperson to develop skills and knowledge for the chosen trade, demonstrating enthusiasm and a willingness to achieve a high level of competency. You will also undertake college studies and must complete the designated development training program.
The Individual
You should have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative. Good communication skills, enthusiasm, punctuality, and the ability to attend college as part of the apprenticeship are essential.
