Job Title: TDLR Licensed Apprentice Electrician, Doota Industrial America

Job Type: Contract

Location: Samsung Semiconductor Plant, Taylor Texas

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 am start time

We are currently seeking a skilled Apprentice Electrician to join our team for a 1-3-month contract at the Samsung Semiconductor Plant in Taylor Texas.

What You’ll Do

  1. Conduit Installation:
    • Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending EMT and RMC conduit.
    • Planning conduit runs based on NEC requirements and job specifications.
    • Pulling wires through conduit efficiently and safely.
  2. Wire Termination:
    • Stripping wires cleanly without damaging conductors.
    • Crimping and terminating connectors.
    • Making terminations for terminal blocks, DIN rails, and screw terminals.
    • Working with twisted-pair, coaxial, and low-voltage cables (e.g., Cat5e/6).
  3. Automation and Control Systems:
    • Familiarity with basic components: relays, contactors, sensors, actuators, and motor starters.
    • Wiring for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control panels.
  4. Electrical Testing and Troubleshooting:
    • Using a multimeter to test voltage, resistance, and continuity.
    • Testing communication cables (e.g., Cat5e/6) with cable testers.
    • Diagnosing and fixing faults in wiring or automation circuits.
  5. Safety Procedures:
    • Understanding OSHA and NEC safety rules.
    • Performing lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for automation systems.
    • Using personal protective equipment (PPE) properly (e.g., gloves, safety glasses).
  6. Tool Proficiency:
    • Use of conduit benders (manual and hydraulic).
    • Drills, saws, and knockout punches for installing conduit.
    • Basic hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and wire strippers.
  7. Blueprint and Schematic Reading:
    • Interpreting electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and conduit layout plans.
    • Following one-line diagrams and control circuit schematics.
  8. Labeling and Organization:
    • Marking wires and conduit for easy identification.
    • Keeping panels and terminations neat and organized for troubleshooting.
  9. Problem-Solving:
    • Quickly identifying and addressing wiring or circuit issues.
    • Adapting to unexpected changes in job requirements.
  10. Attention to Detail:
    • Double-checking terminations, connections, and wiring paths to avoid mistakes.
  11. Teamwork and Communication:
    • Coordinating with other trades on job sites.
    • Clear communication with supervisors and coworkers.
  12. Time Management:
    • Completing tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality.

Requirements

  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Licensed Apprentice electrician with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations
  • Work on site in Taylor, Texas at the Samsung construction site
  • Work Monday through Friday starting at 6:30am.
  • Bilingual is a plus (English and Spanish)

Skills and Physical Requirements:

  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude, good with their hands, organized and analytical.
  • Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders, stairs and scaffolding.
  • Must possess physical strength to pull wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable with heights.
