Job summary

STPNOC in Texas is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to begin a comprehensive three-year training program that leads to a fully qualified journeyman Electrician.

In this on-site role you will attend classes, perform hands-on training, assist journeyman electricians, and support plant maintenance activities during outages and normal operations.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in electrical field preferred.
• Navy nuclear experience may be considered.
• Some industrial electrical experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attend and successfully complete classes in all phases of apprentice/training program.
• Complete OJT/hands-on training from a qualified instructor or maintenance personnel.
• Assist journeyman electricians in testing, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment.
• Identify hold points, additional problems and replacement parts as needed.
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by management, supervision, and journeymen.

Summary:

Individuals will complete a comprehensive three (3) year apprentice program encompassing all areas of plant maintenance leading to a fully qualified journeyman Electrician position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Attend and successfully complete classes in all phases of apprentice/training program
• Complete OJT/hands-on training from a qualified instructor or qualified member of maintenance personnel
• Assist journeyman electricians in the testing, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment
• Identify hold points, additional problems and proper replacement parts as needed during performance of work activities
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by management, supervision, and journeymen

Work Hours:

During much of the training, individuals will work a 4 day/10-hour work schedule (Monday - Thursday); however, alternate work schedules including shift work will be required to support outages and other plant needs.

Location:

STPNOC is located on a 12,200-acre site approximately twenty (20) miles southwest of Bay City, Texas.
