STP Nuclear Operating Company is seeking an Apprentice Electrician at the South Texas Project generating station near Bay City, Texas. The three-year program blends classroom learning with on-the-job training to qualify as a journeyman Electrician.

Candidates will gain hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting, with potential shift work and a 4-day/10-hour schedule during training.

Formación

• High School/GED or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in a related electrical field is preferred.
• Navy nuclear power plant experience may be considered.
• Some industrial experience in Electrical discipline is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Attend and successfully complete classes in all phases of apprentice/training program
• Complete OJT/hands-on training from a qualified instructor or maintenance personnel
• Assist journeyman electricians in testing, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment
• Identify hold points, additional problems and proper replacement parts during work activities
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by management, supervision, and journeymen

Education

Summary

Individuals will complete a comprehensive three (3) year apprentice program encompassing all areas of plant maintenance leading to a fully qualified journeyman Electrician position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Attend and successfully complete classes in all phases of apprentice/training program
• Complete OJT/hands-on training from a qualified instructor or qualified member of maintenance personnel
• Assist journeyman electricians in the testing, troubleshooting and repair of plant equipment
• Identify hold points, additional problems and proper replacement parts as needed during performance of work activities
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by management, supervision, and journeymen

Work Hours

During much of the training, individuals will work a 4 day/10-hour work schedule (Monday - Thursday); however, alternate work schedules including shift work will be required to support outages and other plant needs.

Location

STPNOC is located on a 12,200-acre site approximately twenty (20) miles southwest of Bay City, Texas.
