Job summary

D&F Industries, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to work under a Journeyman on commercial electrical installations, alterations, additions and repairs. Safety comes first, and you will use provided training to comply with OSHA standards.

The role focuses on hands-on duties in the Rio Grande Valley area, with weekly pay and benefits after probation. Own tools are useful, and a license is encouraged for progression.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Valid TDLR Apprentice License (or eligible to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare necessary tools and materials for the job site.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and secure materials at day end.
• Use hand tools to build and maintain electrical systems.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit and wire.
• Install electrical boxes and devices.
• Trace out short circuits and assist crew.

Job description

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work under the guidance of a Journeyman or more senior level Electrician to assist in the installation, alteration, addition and/or repair of electrical systems on commercial work sites. The ideal candidate should work from a position of “Safety First Always” and utilize all safety equipment and training provided to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

• Gather & prepare necessary tools & materials to be used at job site
• Maintain a clean & safe work area & secure material, tools & equipment in appropriate storage areas at the end of the work day
• Utilize hand tools effectively for various tasks related to building and maintaining electrical systems
• Measure, cut, bend & install conduit & wire
• Install boxes & electrical devices
• Trace out short circuits
• Perform other project related duties assigned by crew leader or other senior electrician

Desired Qualifications

• Must pass a drug screen
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid TDLR Apprentice License (or meet qualifications to obtain one)
• At least 1 year Commercial Electrical Experience preferred
• Have own hand tools; we will provide specialty tools
