Job Details

The successful Apprentice Electrician will be responsible for learning and understanding electrical codes through the NEC; assembling, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment in commercial and industrial settings; and maintaining a safe work environment at all times while working on construction projects as part of the Prism Electric team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial, industrial, and large multi-family settings.
• Prepare work areas for equipment installation.
• Assist in installing electrical components.
• Connect wiring and equipment according to code and specifications.
• Operate equipment only if trained and certified (e.g., powder-activated tools, JLG lifts).
• Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
• Read blueprints and electrical drawings to install as specified.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per plans.
• Secure and lock equipment after use.
• Possession of Journeyman Trade Certification in a related construction trade is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
• Excellent knowledge of Building Codes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• All necessary hand-tools & PPE.
• Dependable transportation.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean record.
• Must be licensed to work in TX.
• Legal eligibility to work in the US.

Physical work is a primary part of the job, requiring working in all elements, lifting objects over 50 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks. Work hours are typically 8-10 hours per day, with potential for overtime and night shifts.
