Job summary

Dobbs Truck Group is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Technician. This entry-level role focuses on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician, with hands-on experience on heavy-duty trucks and mentorship from experienced technicians.

The program is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician within 1–2 years. You’ll learn routine maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and documentation in a real shop.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
  • Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs.
  • Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).
  • Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians.
  • Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Accurately document work performed.

About the Role

What You’ll Do
Maintenance & Repairs

Work Environment

This is a hands‑on shop role that includes:

  • Working with heavy equipment and mechanical systems
