Job summary

Dobbs Truck Group is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Technician. This entry-level role provides hands-on training on heavy-duty trucks and a defined path to become a Diesel Technician within 1–2 years.

You’ll learn from experienced technicians, gain shop experience, and grow through paid development programs while contributing to maintenance and repairs in a busy shop environment. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of mechanical experience or trade/technical school training.
• Basic tool set (minimum requirements apply).
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on heavy-duty trucks (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses).
• Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs; support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators).
• Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians; document work performed.
• Follow shop procedures and safety standards; maintain a clean, organized work area.

About the Role

The Apprentice Diesel Technician is an entry-level role focused on developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Diesel Technician.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience working on heavy‑duty trucks while learning directly from experienced technicians. This role is designed to grow into a Diesel Technician position within 1-2 years.

What You’ll Do

Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform routine maintenance (lubrication, filters, belts, hoses)
• Assist with engine, brake, and drivetrain repairs
• Support basic electrical work (batteries, lights, starters, alternators)

Inspection & Support

• Inspect vehicles and report findings to senior technicians
• Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting

Shop Responsibilities

What You Bring

Work Environment

This is a hands‑on shop role that includes:
