Job summary

George Nice & Sons is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Apprentice Construction Craft Laborers. This entry-level position is part of our Apprenticeship Program and is designed for individuals who want to build a career in the construction industry.

Apprentices will receive hands‑on training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and opportunities to develop skills across multiple trades.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • No prior construction experience required.
  • Strong interest in construction or skilled trades.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general construction tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and job site cleanup.
  • Work alongside skilled tradespeople to learn carpentry, concrete work, utilities, and other construction skills.
  • Safely use hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in structured apprenticeship training (on‑the‑job and/or classroom instruction).
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Perform physical labor such as lifting, digging, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the company.
