Job summary

Teema Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to join our residential remodeling team, focusing on high-end bathroom renovations. You will learn from experienced lead carpenters, assist in demolition, framing, drywall, and trim, and gain hands-on skills from teardown to final finish.

This full-time in-office position offers in-house training, growth toward Journeyman status, and a clear path from apprentice to skilled craftsman through hands-on mentorship.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of or strong interest in residential carpentry and construction practices.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools (e.g., miter saw, circular saw, drill/driver).
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16 inch.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Demolition & Prep: Assist in gutting bathrooms, removing fixtures, tile, cabinetry, and drywall while keeping a clean, safe job site.
• Framing & Structural: Learn and assist with light wood and steel stud framing for walls, niches, shower benches.
• Drywall & Backer Board: Install cement board, waterproof membranes, and drywall in preparation for tile.
• Trim & Millwork: Measure, cut, and install baseboards, window casing, crown molding, vanities, and medicine cabinets.
• Subfloor & Floor Prep: Repair subfloors, lay underlayment, and prepare surfaces for tile installation.
• Tool & Material Management: Stage job site materials, maintain hand and power tools, and load/unload equipment safely.
• Site Safety & Cleanliness: Follow OSHA guidelines, wear proper PPE, and ensure daily site cleanup to protect customer homes.
