Our Apprentice Cake Decorator plays a vital role in ensuring our pastries look and taste exceptional. In addition to delivering outstanding guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious cake designs for our guests, contributing to memorable celebrations. Key duties include providing training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Baker functions, with a focus on cake decorating for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items, and mixing colors.
• Follow proper procedures to meet store out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of work for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, helping them locate products, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Familiarize with store products to assist customers effectively.
• Handle products and equipment according to food safety and safety guidelines.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and department to meet sanitation standards.
• Assist in maintaining the efficiency of the bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer by unloading deliveries.
• Follow department procedures, daily setups, and product rotation policies.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
