Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing excellent guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious baked goods for our guests, making their parties special. Key responsibilities include producing quality bakery products to meet customer requirements and building customer loyalty through exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. It is ideal for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience who wants to develop their skills. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior bakery or related industry experience
• Education Desired: No high school diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years old

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
• Prepare and form products according to scratch recipes.
• Bake products using specified time and temperature.
• Insert products into proof box, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
• Store products in freezer to maintain freshness.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and provide samples when appropriate.
• Prioritize safety for team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and helping them find products. Answer questions and offer suggestions based on product knowledge.
• Handle products and equipment according to food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work area, and storage areas to meet sanitation standards.
• Bake and display products, rotate stock, and follow dating procedures to ensure freshness.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures to meet department standards.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand ingredients and their purposes in baked goods.
• Assemble ingredients for baking operations, including scratch recipes.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
• Support other areas as needed.
