Job Summary

Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in making sure our pastries look and taste amazing. In addition to providing unparalleled guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious art for our guests and provide the sweets that will be the hit of their parties. Other key responsibilities include producing quality bakery products to meet customer requirements and building customer loyalty through exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions, focusing on baker duties suitable for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. To succeed, you should be a team player, eager to support and inspire your team, passionate about food and trends, and committed to delivering incredible culinary experiences.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior bakery or related industry experience
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Perform bench work and prepare products according to scratch recipes.
• Bake products using specified times and temperatures.
• Manage proofing processes and ensure proper product size and shape.
• Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
• Maintain freshness by handling products appropriately.
• Demonstrate suggestive selling and sampling techniques.
• Prioritize safety and sanitation in all tasks.
• Provide exemplary customer service, assisting customers and answering questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work areas.
• Rotate stock and ensure product freshness.
• Understand ingredients and their purposes in baking.
• Assist with delivery unloading and backroom organization.
• Support other areas as needed.
