Job Summary

Our Apprentice Baker is a key player in ensuring our pastries look and taste amazing. Alongside providing excellent guest service, you'll assist in creating beautiful and delicious baked goods for our guests, helping to make their parties memorable. Key responsibilities include producing quality bakery products to meet customer requirements and building customer loyalty through exemplary service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Cake Decorator functions. You will focus on bakery duties, ideal for someone with minimal or no retail decorating experience.

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
  • Experience Desired: Prior experience in bakery or related industry
  • Education Desired: No high school diploma required
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
  • Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform bench work according to established scratch procedures when necessary.
  • Prepare and form products according to specifications and recipes.
  • Bake products using appropriate time and temperature settings.
  • Insert products into proof boxes, set controls, and ensure proper size and shape.
  • Prepare and fry donuts following established procedures.
  • Store products in the freezer to preserve freshness.
  • Demonstrate suggestive selling techniques and offer samples when appropriate.
  • Prioritize safety for team members, guests, and products in all tasks.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product location, answering questions, and making suggestions.
  • Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage spaces to meet sanitation standards.
  • Bake and rotate bakery products, ensuring freshness and proper dating.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures diligently.
  • Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Understand ingredients and their purposes in scratch baked goods.
  • Assemble ingredients for baking operations, including scratch recipes.
  • Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining bakery backroom, cooler, and freezer efficiency.
  • Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
