**Job Description**
**Overview of Position:** The purpose of this position is to apply products safely and accurately to a wide range of labeled crops and sites based on recommendations from the Manager/Salesperson. This role also involves operating and maintaining company equipment used in these applications, building customer relations through product application, and providing feedback on field conditions. Successful performance may lead to a Custom Applicator position.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Provide quality application of dry fertilizer products and lime safely and efficiently.
- Use supplied information and technology to ensure correct product application to the right fields and customers.
- Assist in mixing, loading, unloading, and transporting crop protection and fertilizer products.
- Follow all safety laws, regulations, and procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Obtain and maintain state commercial applicator certification and stay current with requirements.
- Perform daily equipment inspections before and after applications.
- Maintain safety equipment and logs, and perform calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Follow environmental and safety guidelines for rinsing and washing equipment.
- Assist team members with physical duties related to agricultural operations.
- Support operational scouting, product transportation, and customer services.
- Adhere to EHS, OSHA, and DOT policies as applicable.
**Required Qualifications:**
- High School diploma or GED, or relevant experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Motor Vehicle Review standards.
- Must obtain and maintain state commercial applicator certification.
- Minimum of an Ag CDL.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
- Effective communication with team and customers.
- Ability to read, write, count, and use technology for documentation and understanding labels and safety data sheets.
- Basic mechanical skills preferred.
- Knowledge of crop chemicals, nutrients, and farming practices.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and seasonal workload changes.
- Ability to locate application sites using technology.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Overtime as needed during peak seasons.
**Physical Demands:**
- Must be physically fit to lift over 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform maintenance tasks.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel, and grasp regularly.
