Job summary

A-Merrie-Sweepe is seeking a Chimney Apprentice to train with experienced technicians and learn the trade from the ground up. You will assist with chimney installations, repairs, and maintenance while earning competitive pay and building a rewarding career.

No chimney experience is required; we provide hands‑on training, mentorship, and support. If you have construction experience and a strong desire to learn, you can grow with the company and develop valuable trade skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, roofing, masonry, HVAC, carpentry, or another skilled trade.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pass a background and illegal drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chimney installations, repairs, relining, and maintenance.
• Load, unload, and prepare tools, equipment, and materials.
• Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices.
• Work safely on ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas.
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional.
• Provide outstanding customer service while representing the company.
• Complete job documentation and communicate progress with the team.
• Follow all company safety policies, including proper PPE and fall protection.
