Position Summary

Entry-level position that performs work assisting a full performance technician/mechanic/worker in a specific trade. Tasks become more complex as there is progression in skill. Assignments are well-defined in nature and the employee is expected to carry them out according to detailed instructions.

Job Description

• Perform training-level work in a specific trades area
• Performs work under the supervision of a higher-level trades worker
• Uses hand and power tools to assist a full performance trades worker in performing maintenance, repairs or tests in a trade specialty
• Assembles equipment and material needed to begin and complete work projects; supplies trades worker with materials and tools required while work in progress; positions objects for installation, repairs, etc.; cleans equipment; stocks maintenance vehicles with tools and equipment for field repairs; gathers salvageable materials in the field and returns them to the repair shop

Preferred Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent or equal combination of education and experience
• Six (6) months of related experience

Physical Strain

• Lifting up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds
• Bending, squatting, climbing, pulling, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at elevated heights
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must be able to work with the team developing improved work processes for the department
