Job summary

The School of Natural Resources at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture in Knoxville invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Applied Wildlife Management with a 60% Research / 40% Extension appointment.

Successful candidate will develop a program in applied wildlife management for Tennessee landscapes, collaborate with agencies and landowners, mentor students, publish in journals, and contribute to Extension programs while seeking extramural

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Ecology, or related field completed before start date.
• Experience conducting applied wildlife management research in ecosystems in or similar to Tennessee.
• Understanding Extension and the Land Grant mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop a research and Extension program focused on applied wildlife management for Tennessee landscapes.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals and secure extramural funding.
• Direct graduate students and mentor undergraduate students; participate in committees and professional societies.
