Thomas College in Waterville, Maine, invites applications for a full-time Applied STEM & AI Specialist in Residence to lead institution-wide AI integration and help launch a new applied STEM program embedded with AI.

This 2-year grant-funded appointment will include faculty professional development, responsible-use practices, and collaboration with academic leadership to shape curriculum and learning experiences at the intersection of engineering, AI, and hands-on making.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or substantial professional expertise in an applied STEM, technical, AI, or related field and demonstrate experience applying AI in teaching, professional practice, or technical problem solving.
• Experience developing academic programs or curricula is strongly preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead faculty professional development.
• Support AI integration across the curriculum.
• Establish responsible-use practices for AI.
• Help develop a sustainable faculty community of practice.
• Shape an emerging applied STEM program with AI embedded in its curriculum and learning experiences.
• Connect AI with hands-on technical learning through tools like simulation, data analysis, automation, robotics, digital fabrication, instrumentation, and AI-assisted design.
