Amazon Robotics seeks an Applied Scientist to advance foundation models for VLA, reasoning, and planning in robotic systems. You will design architectures, train large models, manage data pipelines, and validate performance across simulators and real robots.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, publication-worthy research, and contributions to scalable robotics software and hardware integration.

Formación

• PhD or Master's degree with 4+ years of building ML models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• 2+ years of deep learning, computer vision, human-robot interaction, algorithms implementation experience.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in areas: data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel/distributed computing, high-performance computing.

Responsabilidades

• Model Development and Training: design architectures, train and fine-tune foundation models using diverse datasets, optimize performance.
• Data Management: process and prepare training data, ensure data governance and provenance, create reusable data pipelines.
• Experimentation and Validation: design and run experiments to test models on simulators and embodiment, track baselines and improve results.
• Code Development: write clean, maintainable code, contribute to training infra, build tools for evaluation and testing, expose APIs.
• Research: stay current with foundation models and robotics, perform literature reviews, prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Collaboration: work with senior scientists and engineers across teams, document best practices, support hardware integration.
