Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking an exceptional Applied Scientist to join the Foundation Models and Agentic AI team. You will contribute to robotics applications of large vision-language-action models, reasoning, task planning, and reinforcement learning to advance intelligent robotic systems.

You will collaborate with senior scientists and engineers to shape research that bridges theory and practical implementation, enabling robots to learn, adapt, and interact with environments at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/ML/engineering or related field.
• Publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Master's degree.
• Experience building ML models or developing algorithms for business applications.
• Experience in state-of-the-art DL model architectures and training and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Model development and training: design and implement model architectures, train and fine-tune foundation models, optimize performance.
• Data management: process and prepare training data, data governance, provenance tracking, data quality checks, reusable pipelines.
• Experimentation and validation: design/execute experiments on simulator and embodiment, validate across scenarios, improve performance.
• Code development: write clean, maintainable code, contribute to training infra, create evaluation tools, implement APIs.
• Research: stay current with foundation models/ robotics, literature reviews, reports and presentations.
• Collaboration: work with senior scientists/engineers across teams, document best practices, support hardware integration.
