Job summary

The Mosaic Company, headquartered in Lithia, FL, invites a Summer 2027 Applied Process Technology Engineer Co-Op/Intern to join the FishHawk site and support innovative projects across mining and processing. You will collaborate with engineers and operators in a hands-on environment, contributing to feasibility studies and product development.

Qualified juniors or above pursuing Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or Industrial Engineering with a 2.75+ GPA are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the eligible engineering programs by Jan/May 2027.
• 2.75 GPA or higher required.
• 1–2 years of related volunteer/work experience preferred.

This may include engineering support in new product development, pilot plant design and execution, new technology design, and chemical processing. Typically, 36-40 hours a week.In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.**What you’ll do:*** Lead innovative engineering projects and improvement activities across Mosaic concentrate and mining processes, including development of entirely new processes.* Complete feasibility studies on new technology that could provide a step change improvement to aspects of mining and concentrate processing, and product development.* Actively engage with various levels of personnel, including operations, engineering, and functional groups to share learnings and build collaborative networks.* Participate and direct research activities in both laboratory and full-scale industrial operations.* Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.* Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.* Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.**What you’ll need: *** Junior level or above by Jan/May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or industrial Engineering.* 2.75 GPA or higher* Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.* 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.* Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.* Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.* Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship* Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.* Basic computer skills are required* Experience working in a team environment is a must* Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable* Effective verbal communication skills is a plus* Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environmentsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
