Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is Florida’s National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Tampa. The position supports tobacco cessation and digital health research within an interdisciplinary team at an NIH- and foundation-funded program.

The ideal candidate will lead design, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral and mHealth interventions, contribute to manuscripts and grant writing, and mentor staff in a collaborative setting across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• PhD in clinical psychology, public health, behavioral science or related field.
• Demonstrated scientific writing skills incl. peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with quantitative data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to design, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral and mHealth interventions focused on tobacco cessation.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation, development of research protocols, regulatory submissions, and grant writing.
• Pursue independent funding and professional development in line with career goals.
• Mentor research staff and trainees in a collaborative learning environment.

Position Highlights

Join a productive and collaborative tobacco research program with active NIH, state, and foundation-funded studies focus on smoking and vaping cessation, digital health, and cancer prevention. Interventions currently being tested include CBT, mindfulness, and exposure-based treatments. Gain hands-on experience with developing and evaluating innovative mHealth interventions. Opportunities for manuscript writing and contributing to grant applications. Work within an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Ideal Candidate

• PhD with training in clinical psychology, public health, behavioral science, health communication or related field.
• Demonstrated scientific writing skills, including peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with quantitative data analysis.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills, with ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary research teams.

Salary

Salary Range $72,639.00 - $101,694.60 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
