Job summary

Fabri is seeking a Software Engineer, Applied ML to design and implement software that connects Fabri’s digital manufacturing process end-to-end. You will work across data collection, process analytics, workflow automation, and machine/process integration to improve quality, throughput, and repeatability.

You’ll collect and process data, analyze historical performance, identify correlations between variables and outcomes, and build systems to detect and prevent production issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong programming ability in C++17 and/or Python.
• Experience building backend systems, automation tools, data processing software or internal tools.
• Strong debugging and systems-thinking skills.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments where requirements are not fully specified.
• Interest in manufacturing, robotics, hardware, physical processes, or applied ML.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both software engineers and non-software teammates.
• Willingness to work on-site and stay close to the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Design data collection systems for process data, logs, inspection results and operator feedback.
• Build software that processes manufacturing data to improve quality, throughput and repeatability.
• Analyze historical data, geometry and outcomes to identify trends and correlations.
• Build, train and deploy ML models that predict outcomes from process and geometry data; detect anomalies.
• Write C++ software for data processing, automation and manufacturing orchestration.
• Identify opportunities where automation or ML can improve processes.
• Build backend services and internal tools to make the factory more reliable and scalable.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and process engineering to turn factory problems into software solutions.
