Job summary

fal is building the next generation of AI-powered generative media platforms. We seek a hands-on Applied ML Engineer to own the model layer and bridge research with scalable consumer-facing products. Expect work extending SOTA models and maintaining our fleet of generative model APIs.

You will fine-tune models using our GPU fleet, develop APIs, and collaborate with customers to deliver novel generative solutions for e-commerce, media, and entertainment partners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as an Applied ML Engineer, with at least 1–2 years focused on generative media or computer vision.
• Proficient in Python and PyTorch.
• Deep understanding of diffusion and flow‑based generative models.
• Hands-on experience with open‑weight model ecosystems like Hugging Face and Diffusers.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel model pipelines to extend SOTA image, video, audio, and 3D models with new capabilities.
• Fine‑tune models on a large GPU fleet and build fine‑tuning APIs for customers.
• Create reusable architectures and abstractions to speed up new model capabilities and inference pipelines.
• Apply state-of-the-art inference techniques to optimize latency and throughput.
