Job summary

Calvin University invites applications for a full-time regular faculty member in the Mathematics and Statistics Department to teach lower- and upper-level courses in applied mathematics, statistics, or data science beginning as early as August 2027.

Candidates at all levels of experience will be considered; ideal applicants hold a PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field, with excellence in undergraduate teaching and active research.

Qualifications

• PhD in mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field.
• Master's degree in mathematics, statistics or data science with five years of relevant experience considered.
• Excellence in undergraduate teaching and an active stream of research/publications.
• Experience using varied teaching methods and instructional technology.
• Broad interdisciplinary interests and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to integrate questions of meaning, significance, and ethics into course content.
• Commitment to Calvin University's Christian liberal arts mission and Reformed tradition.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 semester hours per academic year.
• Grow in Reformed Christian commitment and pursue an active scholarly or professional agenda.
• Teach effectively and serve the university, department, students, and wider community.
