Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate mathematics and statistics courses, and engage in scholarly research and grant activity.

Preferred expertise includes applied mathematics with emphasis on nonlinear optimization, machine learning, or stochastic modeling. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or closely related field.
• University teaching experience in mathematics or statistics.
• Evidence of ongoing or potential scholarly research in applied mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate mathematics and statistics courses.
• Engage in scholarly research or grant activity; contribute to department, college and university committees.
