Job summary

Appalachian State University invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Practitioner in Residence in the Department of Management on the Hickory campus. The role focuses on teaching management courses and engaging with the local business community.

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree in business or related field, demonstrate strong coaching/mentorship commitment, and contribute to community outreach and student development at our growing Hickory campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business or closely related discipline is required; if the master's is in another area, at least 18 credit hours in the discipline to be taught.

Responsibilities

• Teach four management classes per semester, primarily in-person on the Hickory campus.
• Engage and develop relationships with the local business community.
• Provide office hours on the Hickory campus; teaching may include online and/or hybrid courses.
• Support student coaching and mentorship and engage with community partners.
