Job summary

Bizsmart Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Accountant for full-cycle financial operations, primarily on-site in Tempe, Arizona. Ideal candidates should have 3–5+ years of accounting experience in an independent insurance agency and a deep understanding of Applied Epic. This role includes responsibilities such as managing Accounts Payable/Receivable, overseeing premium trust accounts, and preparing financial reports. A salary range of $80,000 – $90,000 is offered. Remote/hybrid arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience in an independent insurance agency.
• Deep technical knowledge of Applied Epic is mandatory.
• Thorough understanding of Property & Casualty workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger within Applied Epic.
• Oversee premium trust and operating accounts, ensuring compliance.
• Perform complex reconciliations for various transactions.
• Process carrier downloads, imports, and manual commission statements.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
• Evaluate and refine Applied Epic workflows for efficiency.
• Familiarity with payroll processes and platforms.
