Grand Canyon University seeks adjunct faculty to teach the course Applied Engineering Stochastic Processes at the Phoenix campus for the Spring 2027 semester (01/04/2027 - 04/23/2027). The role focuses on in-person instruction with smaller class sizes, encouraging engagement and rigorous academic inquiry.

Ideal candidates will have a Doctorate in engineering or a Master’s in engineering/applied mathematics or statistics, and a passion for mentoring students in a faith-centered university

Qualifications

• Doctorate in engineering or Master's in engineering (or applied mathematics/statistics) preferred.
• Experience teaching at the college level is a plus.
• Commitment to Christian worldview aligned with GCU mission.
• Diversity and inclusion in candidate pool emphasized.

Course: Applied Engineering Stochastic Processes

Apply the stochastic process to the modeling and solution of the engineering problems.

The course introduces the students to modeling, quantification, and analysis of uncertainty in engineering problems; all building into an introduction to Markov chains, random walks, and Galton-Watson tree and their applications in engineering.

What You Will Do:

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

Qualifications:

Preferred: Doctorate Master's in an engineering discipline OR Master's in applied mathematics or statistics
