Job summary

Apple Inc. in Seattle seeks an Applied Data Scientist to own the operations intelligence stack, designing scalable data systems, predictive models, and automation tools to optimize workforce planning and demand forecasting in Apple’s human-in-the-loop workflows.

You will prototype, validate, and deploy practical tooling, collaborate with product and engineering partners, and translate complex data into actionable decisions that scale evaluation across features.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of industry experience in applied science, data engineering, or operations research.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; experience building data pipelines and backend utilities.
• Experience with time-series forecasting, capacity planning, or optimization for operations.
• Experience integrating intelligent automation and LLM-driven tool workflows.
• Ability to translate fragmented data into unified models and automated monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design predictive forecasting and capacity models for evaluation demand and budget trajectories.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and telemetry across human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Develop decision-support tooling to evaluate trade-offs and optimize spend in real time.
• Create conversational automation and tool-calling workflows to streamline inquiries.
• Establish monitoring and anomaly detection to preempt bottlenecks and SLA risks.
• Collaborate with operations leads, engineers, and PMs to ground tooling in real feedback.
• Communicate findings and roadmaps clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
