Payrate: $18.41/HR ($2,000 Sign-on bonus for full-time new hires)

The Applied Behavior Specialist (ABS) provides intensive on-going behavioral assessment/behavior support plan implementation to individuals diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) or other genetic/behaviorally complicated disorders in Community Residential Services (CRS). The role involves behavioral interventions, assessments, and working closely with a clinical team to implement individualized behavior plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides behavioral assessment and behavior support plan (BSP) implementation services to residents
  • Applies treatment strategies, therapeutic interventions, and protocols derived from an applied behavior analysis (ABA) model
  • Attends ongoing trainings and keeps all trainings up to date
  • Collects data on the behavior support plans and outcomes
  • Works with individuals on daily living skills in a structured environment
  • Develops and implements recreational activities with the program management team
  • Documents in clinical charts and maintains records according to schedule
  • Prepares meals according to menu and schedule
  • Implements outcomes and maintains residents' progress
  • Supervises and supports persons served according to behavior support plans and team-driven general support plans, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field, or Associates degree plus three years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with challenging behaviors and implementing ABA strategies preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and crisis intervention
  • Valid driver's license with two years of driving experience and a clean record
