Applied AI Software Engineers – Multiple Levels

Location: New York City – four days onsite

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus equity

I’m working with an early-stage NYC company building governed AI systems for regulated financial institutions.

They’re creating technology that delivers personalised financial advice at scale while ensuring every recommendation is explainable, auditable and compliant. This isn’t an AI wrapper bolted onto an existing product—the intelligence layer is the product.

They’re hiring several engineers across different levels. You could be an experienced Staff Engineer or someone with 2–3 years’ experience who has already shipped meaningful applied-AI products within a startup. They care more about what you’ve built than how senior your current title sounds.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building production agentic and multi-agent systems

Experience in fintech, healthcare, legal technology or another regulated industry would be useful but isn’t essential. React and TypeScript experience is also valuable, although this is primarily an applied-AI and backend systems role.

You’ll need to be based in—or willing to relocate to—New York and comfortable working onsite four days per week.
