Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Application Software Engineer, Applied AI in Hawthorne, CA to design, evaluate, deploy, and integrate modern AI systems. You will own end-to-end AI capabilities from prototype to production, collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to deliver AI-powered features for SpaceX programs.

We value engineers who ship real-world AI products, with hands-on experience deploying AI models and integrating them into production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of professional software experience.
• Experience evaluating, deploying, and integrating AI models in production.
• Proven track record delivering AI-powered features or products.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable software for SpaceX's AI-powered applications across production lines.
• Incorporate large language models and agentic systems into products and infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle from prototype to production for AI capabilities.
• Analyze user problems to identify high-leverage AI opportunities.
• Architect production systems for agentic workflows with reliability and safety in mind.
• Create and maintain evaluation frameworks and observability for AI systems.
• Stay current with AI techniques and integrate best practices across programs.
