Job summary

Meta's Applied AI Security team is seeking a Security Engineer to develop AI-enabled defenses, prototype AI-powered security tools, and advance security for large-scale AI systems.

You will blend hands-on engineering with applied research, collaborating across engineering, product, and research teams to drive detection, response, and security innovations at scale. This role requires 5+ years of security experience and the ability to operate independently on complex security challenges.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience in one or more domains such as detection engineering, threat intelligence, incident response, cloud security, or adversarial simulation.
• Extensive knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Proficiency in coding with languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or shell scripting.
• Experience building security systems, tools, or capabilities and working independently on complex challenges.

Responsibilities

• Apply deep security domain expertise to identify and solve complex problems requiring multi-step reasoning and expert judgment.
• Build security products, tools, and capabilities—prototyping AI-driven solutions at scale.
• Design and execute adversarial research, threat intelligence analysis, detection engineering, or investigation workflows augmented by AI tools.
• Collaborate with researchers to translate security expertise into training signals for models.
