Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist to advance applied AI in healthcare. You will design and run experiments on large-scale healthcare datasets, develop novel models, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to bring research into production.

You should be deeply grounded in machine learning research, enjoy hands-on production work, and translate breakthrough ideas into real-world impact with scalable systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, ML, AI or related field.
• 3+ years of industry research experience; postdoc may be considered equivalent.
• Strong publication record in top ML/AI conferences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct applied ML research on healthcare data and improve explainability.
• Design, train, and evaluate models; run large-scale experiments.
• Collaborate with ML engineering, ML Ops, and product teams to deploy research.
• Build end-to-end prototypes and validation methodologies with measurable impact.
